This stop was one of the highlights of my Nashville trip. Get the chicken and sausage gumbo. You won't regret it. It's packed with flavor and has a little kick that's greatly appreciated, no matter what the weather is. It's in a great location, so the outdoor seating is perfect for people watching while you wait for dinner. We ordered a couple of apps, a chicken and sausage gumbo, and a gumbo flight. I highly recommend the flight to try the different flavors. What a fun idea. I'll be dreaming of these flavors until I return.
We’re in town for the afternoon, and needed somewhere to stop for dinner. I may not be the best judge on Crawfish Étouffée as I’ve only had it twice, but this was the best I ever had. I sampled the others food and it was all great as well. The outdoor eating area was great, and our server was very attentive.
Highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for southern Louisiana cooking! Everything we ordered here was so tasty and came out quick and piping hot. I got the seafood gumbo and my husband got the chicken and sausage both were so delicious in their own way. It was a gorgeous day and we sat in the outside area. Drinks were a great flavor profile and the food was a decent cost for each item. It was nice to not have everything over priced here. Our server Annabell was really sweet and had such a fun and friendly personality. Thank you
The gumbo and po' boys are good. The only negative I have noticed is the gumbo flavor can be inconsistent. My favorite gumbo in Nashville is at another establishment and is always very consistent in flavor. I'll give them a few more tries to see if it becomes more consistent, however if not I'll have to scratch them off my list. I frequent establishments where I know what I am getting time in, time out, no guessing...
Excellent food. Had gumbo and fried tomatoes, fried pickles and fried okra. Also, delicious beignets. Our server, Ronda was excellent as well. She was super friendly and made us feel welcomed. Will definitely be back for more.
Stumbling upon a Louisiana diner in the heart of Nashville felt like hitting culinary gold, especially for a Creole cuisine appreciator like myself. My only regret? Not fasting for a week to fully seize this gastronomic opportunity. The ambiance hits the right notes and the staff are as warm as a Southern sunset. But let's be honest, atmosphere and charm would mean zilch if the food was lackluster. Fear not, this spot has your taste buds covered. The seafood gumbo is so packed with flavor, it should come with its own fireworks display. Alas, my stomach waved the white flag before I could tackle the alligator basket, but that's just another delicious excuse to return.
Overall this was more like a 4.5 star experience. Their gumbo is delicious. M We tried both the seafood and chicken/sausage gumbo. Perfectly seasoned and tasty although we both would have liked it a little warmer. Alligator bites were delicious but wish they were a little warmer. The sauce that came with the bites was great. Catfish basket was good but it was more of a fries basket as it had more fries than catfish. Catfish was seasoned well, hot, and delicious. Their Louisiana IPA was delicious.
Kind of small on the inside. I haven't had alligator since a childhood trip to FL so had to try it. Very good, tasted fresh. Soups/gumbos are brought out right away as they're already prepared, fried entrees like po boys are fried to order. I had the crawfish etouffe which I recommend for anyone not into a lot of spice. My sister had the seafood gumbo which she thought spicy, I thought it was fine. The food was great and will be eating the rest later. Main complaint is the music level, difficult to hear other people people at the table. Other than that our waiter was personable and would definitely recommend.
Edit, the bread served is a type of French bread from New Orleans which adds to the experience
